Welcome to Vets on Wheels.
Hi. My name's Emma and I own and run Vets on Wheels, a mobile vet clinic based on the Gold Coast.
I've wanted to be a vet ever since I can remember, and after graduating from the University of Queensland in 1998 the travel bug bit, so I packed my stethiscope and left my hometown of Brisbane to do vet work in clinics from far northern Queenlsand and the Northern Territory to England and Greece.
It's been a great experience and I've met many interesting characters along the way- (both pets and people)- but you cannot beat Queensland as a place to live, and where better than the sun and surf of the Gold Coast?
One thing I noticed in the clinics I've worked in is that sometimes a vet visit can be difficult for animals and their owners.
This is why I started a veterinary housecall practice in 2006.
My aim is to make veterinary care as easy and stress free as possible.
I bring all my equipment with me and do your pet's examination in their own home, where they are comfortable and the surroundings are familiar.
This means for them:
- No cold exam table
- No barking dogs in the waiting room
- No strange disinfectant smells
- No mixing with other pets who may be contagious
And it means for you:
- No time wasted in a waiting room
- No need to get your cat into a cat carrier or your dogs/cats/kids all into the car
Vets on Wheels is a personalised service. Consultations are a bit longer than in a clinic, and I get to know my clients and patients well.
